Natural ways of dealing with stretch marks after child birth


Mabel had three babies in less than five years and her first was too large. She say she had stretch marks was an understatement, she was drenched in it! When it began appearing, she knew her life would never remain the same again. She began scouting for available cosmetics to fight it but nothing happened, but rather became worse. As every woman goes through the pregnancy process, she experiences a lot of changes like bloating of the varicose vein, increase in weight and skin discoloration, chief among them is stretch marks. Many cosmetics manufacturers claim to have creams and lotions as cure for stretch marks. But they seem to have forgotten that stretch mark is an internal skin problem and the creams and lotions are applied outside. The bitter truth is that stretch marks have no cure, the more you try to eliminate it, the more frustrated you become, the good news it that you can curb its increase. Below are some useful natural help but before you start, make sure you lose that saggy weight first.

Shea Butter/ Cocoa Butter is considered to be a popular remedy for stretch marks. Apply Shea butter or cocoa butter directly on the stretch marks reduces their appearance. Butter application on the affected area improves the elasticity of the skin and prevents dryness. When applied, leave for about 15 minutes then wash off, repeat the procedure regularly.

Egg Whites/Oil is a very rich source of protein; it is believed that the proteins in egg whites help in rejuvenate your skin. Applying the white part of it on the effected area is effective for reducing stretch marks. Do this on a regular basis and see how it works.

Water remains the most essential nutrient for the body, keeping it well hydrated. Skin hydration helps to keep your skin free from diseases, including stretch marks. Drink at least from 10 glasses of water and above every day. It’s also advisable to reduce the intake of coffee, tea or soda as they can cause dehydration.

Lemon Juice is acidic in nature; it can reduce the increase of stretch marks. Apply lemon juice on the stretch marks. Let the juice soak into your skin. Rinse it off with cold water. Do this daily to see the desired results.

Potato Juice can also be helpful, cut it into two-halves. Take one half and rub it on the stretch marks. Ensure that the juice gets soak into the skin, hen wash it off with water.

Amazingly, the least expected one is Sugar. It’s another remedy for stretch marks. Mix one tablespoon of sugar with few drops of lemon juice and a small amount of almond oil. Mix it well. Now apply this mixture on your stretch marks. This scrub exfoliates your dead skin. Do this every day before taking your bath. Watch your stretch reduce.
