October 1, 30 Days in Atlanta win big at 2015 AMAA


The 11th African Movie Academy Awards(AMAA 2015) held in South Africa was graced by many Nollywood stars along with actors and stakeholders from all over the continent. It was a pleasant event and Nigeria’s status as the flagship of the African movie industry was further established as movies and actors from Nigeria grabbed the most awards on the night. 30 Days in Atlanta won Best Comedy, October 1 won Best Costume and Best Nigerian film while Hilda Dokubo and Sadiq Daba were awarded with Best Actress in a supporting role and Best Actor in a leading role respectively.

Best Child Actor  –  “Layla Walet Mohammed and Mehdi A.G Mohammed – Timbuktu”

Best Documentary – Egypt Modern Pharaohs

Best Diaspora – ‘Supremacy’ (USA)‎

Achievement In Screenplay – “Le President – Cameroun”

BEST ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE – Samson Tadese (Triangle, Ethiopia)

Best Promising Actor – Joint award Kemi Lala Akindoju (Dazzling Mirage) and Hassan Spike (Boda Boda thieves)

Best Actress in supporting role – Hilda Dokubo (Nigeria)

Best actor in a leading role –  Sadiq Daba
