Brad Pitt has already mastered the art of aging backwards on the big screen while playing one of his most memorable roles, Benjamin Button, but today he announced a new, rather unlikely, anti-aging venture in the form of his own genderless skincare line.
The 58-year-old unveiled his new beauty brand, Le Domaine, in an exclusive interview with British Vogue, debuting four ‘inclusive’ – and very pricey – skincare products that are made with olive oil from Chateau Miraval, the French vineyard and castle he purchased with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie in 2012.
Le Domaine has launched with three, soon to be four, products, all of which also include ‘potent properties’ from the seeds of grapes grown at a vineyard owned by Pitt’s partners at Miraval, and all of which are aimed at providing users with their very own Benjamin Button-esque results.
“I’m a big fan of architecture and design, and I loved the idea of upcycling oak wood from the wine barrels of the Perrin wine estates. We worked with a local designer to create this unique cap for the jars and bottles. It is made in France by craftsmen, and each piece is unique. The result is both minimalist and sensory.”
Pitt credits the creative history of Château Miraval with giving him inspiration to start the line.
He told British Vogue the compound has “always been this hub of creativity. It has so many places within it where you want to sit and think and expand and explore and make beautiful things. … I know there are new products nearly every day that people are trying to launch, but if I hadn’t seen a real difference visually in my skin, we wouldn’t have bothered.”
