Waxing is a hair removal method done popular mostly amongst women who want to get rid of hair follicles around their abdomen, feet, legs, arms, back, eyebrow, face and pubic area. This procedure could be painful while it is being carried out but it tends to be more effective than shaving or using hair removal creams. While the hair is merely removed at the surface when using these two other procedures, waxing removes the hair from its root which means more time before they grow back.
How does it work?
There are basically two types of waxing you can do. The first one is a soft or strip wax. This is done by spreading wax thinly on the area you want to remove hair and a cloth or paper strip is applied firmly on the waxed area. The strip is then removed quickly and as parallel as possible to avoid stress or trauma to the skin.
The second type is the strip-less or hard wax. Here the wax is applied on the skin more thickly and is allowed to solidify. Once it does, it becomes easier to remove without any paper strip or cloth. It is also usually less painful. Also, the wax doesn’t cling to the skin making it ideal for persons with sensitive skin.
# waxing could be expensive depending on the area you want waxed and the number of siting required.
# ensure you do your waxing at a certified salon or spa and make sure it’s done by a professional.
# You could experience redness of skin, bumps and slight bleeding.
# You could also experience skin lifting which is a condition where the top layer of skin is torn away during waxing.
# It is important you now about the procedure you are undertaking. Waxing might just not be what your body agrees with.
